About TANDEM

TANDEM was formed by two directors, Daniel Greaves and Nigel Pay, who were later joined by producer Mike Bell.

After winning the Oscar (Best Animated Short) - as well as around twenty international film awards including the Cartoon d'Or - for Manipulation, they went on to produce the BBC 30-minute special, Flatworld which itself won dozens of awards and was nominated for a BAFTA. That was followed by many more awards for BAFTA nominated Little Things. The studio continues to produce short films and commercials.

These successes allowed the studio to establish an international reputation and led to extensive advertising work and this has grown rapidly. They have recently produced key campaigns for Honda (Wieden+Kennedy), Ribena (M&C Saatchi), Marmite (DDB London) featuring Paddington Bear and Anchor Butter (CHI). Recent work includes Campaigns for VW (Iris), William Hill (BMB) and Nokia (W+K) as well as a series of creative films for the publisher of the Simon's Cat books, Canongate.

The studio now represents a roster of directors who work across every conceivable animation technique and style. Amongst the directors there are many awards including two 2 Academy Award winners, 1 BAFTA, 3 McLaren Awards, 7 British Animation Awards, 1 Cartoon d'Or as well as hundreds of other awards from international film festivals and within the commercial world.

Tandem is based at a large facility in North London, incorporating a drawing studio, CG department, motion-control studio facility, digital editing suite and sound facility.
